After reports and speculation about the next likely destination for ex-Celtic midfielder Joe Ledley, most of you will be happy to know it won’t be to Celtic.

We love Joe, but at 32, coming off some pretty serious injuries and released by Derby – to even entertain the notion of him coming back would have been purely driven by nostalgia.

The Welshman looks like he is going for something a bit different as reports from Voetbal Zone confirm the player is in Holland to thrash out a deal with Fortuna Sittard.

The Eredivisie side are not too well known but just staved off relegation last season.

If Joe makes the move it will spell the end of a 15-year stay playing within the UK. The player started his career at Cardiff before signing for Celtic on a pre-contract, it was then onto Crystal Palace for the midfielder and finally Derby where he was released this summer.
