Swansea City boss Alan Sheehan has avoided giving details on the club’s interest in Adam Idah, saying that only Celtic can provide answers on the striker’s future.
Talks between the two clubs are said to be moving forward, but Sheehan would not confirm where things stand.
Celtic are still looking at their options in attack as Brendan Rodgers wants to secure a replacement before allowing Idah to move on. Kasper Dolberg is the main target, with discussions continuing with Anderlecht over a deal worth around £8.5 million.
After Swansea’s win at Hillsborough, Sheehan stressed that his job is to concentrate on performances and results, not the rumours surrounding transfers.
He said: (Wales Online), “The latest is that he is not our player. He is currently a Glasgow Celtic player so right now I can only talk about Swansea players.
I think if you ask Celtic potentially you’d get the answer to that question.
“I can’t speak on behalf of Celtic. I can speak on behalf of every Swansea fan that came here [to Hillsborough], every staff member and every player.
“We came here and got three points and that’s my job, to focus on performances on the pitch.”
Sheehan’s comments show Swansea are being patient, waiting for Celtic to sort out their own transfers before Idah’s move can be completed. The Welsh club still believe they will get him before the deadline, but it depends on Brendan Rodgers signing another striker first.

For Idah, the feeling is that he will head to Swansea soon after already saying goodbye to his Celtic teammates last week. Swansea have reportedly chased him all summer, and bringing him in is seen as an important boost for their attack in the Championship.
Celtic, on the other hand, are under pressure to add to their squad, with the need for new forwards growing. Kasper Dolberg is their main target, and with the deadline now close, the club must move quickly to avoid being left without enough options.
