Chris Sutton has delivered his social media verdict on Celtic’s Europa crusade this season.
The bhoys will drop down to the Conference league in the new year, and it’s a case of ‘what if’ for the bhoys in green.
Sutton was measured in his criticism, noting the improvements in this side since Ange Postecoglou took over.
However, there was no escaping Celtic’s defensive flaws.
Celtic subs haven’t worked tonight. Gutsy performance and the truth is the Celtic team have improved so much under Postecoglou. Big shame though. Defensively Celtic have come up well short in Europe. Overall squad strength not as strong as Ange would like. January a key month!

Chris is absolutely right when he talks about the January window. We got a first hand lesson in why we need better strength in depth come 2022.

The subs Ange called upon helped blow the tie in the final minutes. The startling disparity in quality between our first XI and some of the players on the bench is worrying.
If we want to win things this season, we really have to invest in this side.
There’s no reason why Celtic can’t get to the later stages of the Conference league if they play their cards right.
