Celtic Star’s Days Are Numbered Admits Chris Sutton

CHRIS SUTTON has been honest with his appraisal of the Celtic team this season and believes changes are needed to rejuvenate the team.

The BT Sport pundit has been banging the drum for months about Celtic needing fresh talent through the door as early as possible so they can gel ahead of the bhoys next campaign.

One of the positions Celtic may have to look at is left back.

Sutton knows Kieran Tierney is number one BUT made the controversial admission that by Kieran’s standards, he’s been a bit flat this year. In the same breath believes Emilio Izaguirre is done at the club after this season which means Celtic will need a new backup.

“I give him credit for being gutsy and fighting for the team. He’s still the best left-back in the country by a mile but it has been a bit flat by his standards.” Sutton admitted in his RecordSport Column.

“Emilio Izaguirre is a back-up with his days numbered.” he added.

Tierney seems to have been carrying an injury for the majority of the season and that’s why he may not have looked at his best. Especially since coming back the defender hasn’t looked himself at times and is putting himself through the pain barrier.
