Sutton Lays Out Celtic’s Next Steps

CHRIS SUTTON made sure his opinions were heard throughout Sunday’s defeat at Hampden. From the referee’s performance to criticising and praising individual players.

The former Celtic striker ensured that no blame landed at the manager’s door. The lineup was perfect, but a poor performance from the players had significant consequences when the full-time whistle sounded.

Celtic need to keep their heads held high. They are still fighting in the league. Sutton is looking for the team to bounce back in fashion in Dingwall at the weekend before meeting The Rangers on the 1st of May.

Writing in the Daily Record, Sutton stated;

“They simply have to close the door on this, move on and blow away Ross County next weekend.

“That’s the best way to get this out the system and would be another huge step towards the title.

“Then it’s Rangers back at Parkhead and a chance to show that they are top of the table for a reason and won’t be budged.

“The bigger picture is that Ange Postecoglou has worked wonders this season to get Celtic where they are and it needs one more big push to get over the line and deliver the title.”

Celtic found it tough on their last visit to Dingwall, relying on an Anthony Ralston header to win the three points.

Celtic will need to be brilliant to leave the highlands with all three points. If the side does drop points, they invite Van Bronkorst’s team back into the title race and add more pressure on themselves.
