Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton analysed the Hoops’ 0-0 draw against Dundee United at Tannadice on a frustrating afternoon for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
With Rodgers making five changes ahead of the game due to a combination of injuries and a virus affecting the squad, it was always going to be a tough afternoon against Jim Goodwin’s men.
Sutton pointed out the lack of attacking threat, with Yang Hyun-jun and Luke McCowan coming into the team which neither was able to provide.
Celtic not good enough in the final third today. You can’t win them all mind . Big players missing and not easy for fringe players to come in and perform to the required level. Well played to Jim Goodwin and Dundee United👏👏

Celtic were bound to drop points away from home eventually, having won all 8 of their previous away games in the Scottish Premiership this season before this afternoon.
Rodgers certainly won’t adopt this attitude; however, it seems to be yet another indication that signings are needed in the January transfer window.
The Hoops are in a strong position at the time of writing, but added depth, particularly in the wide areas, could help elevate the team to another level.
With links to Kieran Tierney and a left winger believed to also be on the radar, Celtic could be looking to strengthen key areas in the squad during the upcoming window.

The January transfer window is often overlooked, with teams typically quiet, however, with Adam Idah joining on loan in January, it showed the positive impact that signings can have in the second half of the season.
The Irish striker proved vital in winning the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup last season, with his late goals off the bench.
