Sutton Gives Verdict on Scott Brown Red Card

CHRIS SUTTON has exonerated Scott Brown of any blame for his sending off on Sunday insisting it’s the rule which stinks.

The Celtic captain scored a very late winner which seen Celtic move EIGHT points clear of second place and in the grand scheme of the season it was a massive moment. With the player putting the ball in the back of the net he instinctively ran to the supporters but didn’t quite hit the stands. Fans then came onto the pitchside area to celebrate with the players.

Straight after the celebrations had subsided, Scott Brown was given his second yellow of the day and was given his marching orders by Bobby Madden.

Chris Sutton blames the rules in place for celebrating a goal by leaving the pitch for the incident rather than the player or referee but we see an inconsistent use of the rule on a regular basis and had Bobby Madden wanted to or read the moment better there was no need to hand a second yellow to the player.
