Celtic defeated Rangers by a goal to nil at Ibrox on Sunday. Kyogo Furuhashi’s strike late in the first half helped the Bhoys secure three invaluable points.
In the match, the Hoops didn’t get to play the expansive, attacking football they would have wanted to but the most important thing was winning. Celtic did exactly that.
At the back, the Bhoys remained stout, seeing away any Gers’ threats. Liam Scales was top-class meanwhile Joe Hart made a number of wonderful saves.
Days after the match, Chris Sutton said that he thinks Celtic are still a team in transition, despite their victory. He said (Daily Record): “Rodgers’ team might not have hit the heights yet in terms of full-throttle play, but at least you can see the plan and the idea and you contrast that against their rivals.”

There is still a long way to go for Rodgers in his second spell in charge of the champions. His team are still adapting, yet remain way ahead of their city rivals in the opinion of Sutton.
Sunday’s result only proved this as with numerous first-team members out, victory was still sealed. As well as this, the Hoops will continually improve as the season goes on, which only bodes well.
