Celtic returned from the international break in style on Sunday afternoon thanks to goals from Matt O’Riley, Daizen Maeda, Kyogo, and Tomoki Iwata. It was a deserved 4-1 win for the Hoops, who are now seven points clear at the top of the table.

Post-match, both Chris Sutton and John Hartson reacted to the win. Indeed the Englishman hailed the victory as ‘ruthless’, and one which the champions ‘totally bossed’:
Ruthless display from Celtic. Totally bossed the game at a difficult venue. Some of their passages of play were truly excellent. Matt O Riley phenomenal. Need to take this confidence into the game against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday 🍀

Likewise, Hartson was majorly impressed by the Hoops’ performance. He labelled it one of their easiest wins of the season thus far:
Can’t think of an easier win this season for Celtic.. started the game brilliantly.. passing was crisp.. and 4 goals to boot. Reason why hearts were so poor was Celtic relentless in their approach. Juggernaut performance 👍🏻

Few would disagree with what the striking duo have said post-match. Celtic were excellent this afternoon, but it could’ve easily been more.
The Parkhead side will aim to improve going forward, but today’s result will give them the utmost encouragement heading into Wednesday evening’s crucial tie with Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, one in which Celtic needs to take some points from.
