Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon thinks Greg Taylor has the quality to play in the English Premier League.
The left-back, who continually seems to divide opinion among Hoops fans, has registered over 185 appearances for the club since signing from Kilmarnock in 2019.
Coincidentally, Lennon brought Taylor to Glasgow’s east end, signing him and the much-maligned Boli Bolingoli to help fill the void left by the departing Kieran Tierney.
Bolingoli’s acquisition was a disaster, but given what Taylor has contributed to Celtic over the past half-decade, one could consider his signing successful.

Although he isn’t perhaps Champions League class, the 27-year-old is one of the best left-backs in Scotland.
Indeed, Lennon rates Taylor so highly that he thinks he could play in the English Premier League, a theory which might surprise a fair few Celtic supporters.
He said [OLBG]: “Greg Taylor has been such a consistent performer for Celtic domestically and in Europe when you consider the money that they paid for him.
“He is a really good footballer and really good defender. I think he’s surprised a lot of people. He’s just improved and improved year in, year out.
“I understand why Brendan wants him to stay because left backs are hard to find and he’s a really consistent performer. I would be loathed to see him leave Celtic and he looks really happy there, but Greg Taylor could play in the Premier League, I’m pretty sure of it.”
Lennon’s comments come as uncertainty reigns over Taylor’s contractual situation at Parkhead.
His current Celtic deal expires at the end of the season, and although Brendan Rodgers has consistently stated his desire to tie the defender down, it doesn’t look like anything will come to fruition soon.
Fans would likely be disappointed to see Taylor leave, especially on a free, and the current uncertainty over his contract raises further questions about Celtic’s left-back situation going into next season.
