Surprise Guest Joins Brendan Rodgers at Lennoxtown

Celtic are training at Lennoxtown ahead of their Champions league tie against Lazio on Wednesday and there was a surprise guest at the training facility.

During the session, former Celtic captain and academy bhoy Charlie Mulgrew was spotted alongside the Celtic manager in his tracksuit.

Mulgrew retired from football in the summer after being relegated with Dundee Utd.

The former defender is now looking to get his coaching badges and looks like he’s picking Brendan’s brain as he gets set to become a coach.

Mulgrew never played under Brendan Rodgers. The player was out of contract with Celtic when Brendan took control for the first time back in 2016. Charlie trained under Rodgers until finding a new club.

Rodgers has been known for taking young coaches under his wing and giving them advice as they find their way.

It’s good to see a former Celt given a helping hand.

The team were being put through their paces and look in good spirits ahead of matchday two of the Champions League. The disco lights are getting warmed up and the fans will be in fine voice come 8pm on Wednesday evening.
