Celtic winger Mohamed Elyounoussi has backed summer signing and team-mate Albian Ajeti to turn things around at Celtic and is convinced he will come.
As quoted by the Daily Record, Elyounoussi who was also a teammate of Ajeti’s at Basel in Switzerland, so he knows exactly the type of player Ajeti is and has backed him to turn things around and have a successful career at the club.
“There’s definitely more to come from Albian. I played with him and know what he is capable of.
“He made a big move from Basel to West Ham, so he is a quality player.
“He had a really good start here at Celtic. He wasn’t really fit when he came so that took a bit of time. But he scored a lot of goals and then he got injured.
“He’s been in and out with injury problems, so it’s been a little bit difficult for him.
“But I’m really sure that he’s going to show what he’s capable of when he’s needed.
“He’s a hard-working guy and I’m sure he’s going to come back stronger.
“When you know someone coming in from before, you try to help them settle in.
“But Albian’s the type of guy that gets along with everyone.
“He was good with everyone from day one here at Celtic. He’s a good guy, a funny guy – and a good player to have in the dressing room.”
Ajeti got off to a flyer at Celtic scoring several goals in his opening games for the club.
After picking up an injury in a 3-0 win against Hibs back in September he hasn’t really had a look in since, apart from a few substitute appearances.
For me, there is a player in there he just hasn’t been given the fair chance to do so.
With a new manager likely to come in at some point next season, it would be good to see how the Swiss attacker does under new management, and if someone else can get the absolute best of him.
