Summer Exit Still Likely Despite Lennoxtown Return

OSAZE URHOGHIDE has returned to Celtic, after spending the last half of the season on loan with Belgian side KV Oostende.

After signing last summer, the defender failed to make an impact on the team, making just one appearance. This came in Celtic’s dead rubber Europa League tie against the Spanish side Real Betis.

In a statement, the Belgian club confirmed that the former Sheffield Wednesday man would return to Glasgow for pre-season.

It’s clear that he’s not in Ange’s plans, with a buy-out clause included in the 21-year-old’s contract, the club would’ve hoped that he would make his stay in Belgium permanent. KV Oostende couldn’t afford the fee that was agreed with Celtic in January, the figures are not yet known.

A summer exit looks inevitable for the player, who has one last chance to impress the Celtic boss in pre-season. Celtic are struggling with Injury problems at the back, with a timeline for Carl Starfelt’s return still to be revealed.

Celtic will likely look to cut their ties with the player, and move him on rather than sending him out on another loan deal.
