‘Stronger’ Gers Have ‘Good Chance’ of Beating Celtic to Title Claims Ex-Ibrox Ace

Former Ibrox midfielder Pedro Mendes joins a long line of idiots who tip the other half of Glasgow for a title win without having the slightest clue what they’re talking about.

Pedro played in a different time and the back end of the EBT days when the former Ibrox club were found guilty of cheating with side contracts.

Now away from the day to day rigours of Scottish football the Portuguese player apparently just gives his opinion as a fan rather than a pundits. It’s the only conclusion you can make when he describes the Ibrox club as being ‘stronger’. He could mean it very literally, and actually think the Gers squad can physically impose themselves more or he is just stating they’re stronger than last season – which in the face of it, they are, but still not stronger than Celtic.

However, if you watched the first Glasgow Derby of the season there’s no doubting who the better side is. Not if you’re Pedro though, but we doubt he even watched the game.

“Rangers are fine. This year they have a good chance of becoming champions again.” The former Premier League player told Sport Witness.

“Either them or Celtic, because the fight is practically between the two, but Rangers are stronger.”

We’ll see.
