CELTIC were convincing as they defeated Livingston 3-0 at home on Wednesday evening, despite the lack of goals in the second half.
As the game was drawing to a close, the stewards started surrounding the pitch, which is a completely normal practice for a matchday at Parkhead.
Mental amount of stewards around the ground at full time. What was that about… pic.twitter.com/uDxqZlpJNp

However, there were far too many stewards. After the North Stand was complete, the remaining stewards were walked back to where they came. But the scenes were comedy gold for fans, jeering them back round.
It was as if they were spawned in at Celtic Park!
For a midweek game against Livingston, you’ve got to admit that it was a bit excessive to have all those stewards. We can only take a guess and say it could have been a training exercise for more high profile games. By the time the referee blew for full time there were more stewards in the stadium than fans!
Pitch invasions are hardly a common occurrence after they took a spike last season.
