As the transfer window progresses, Celtic is reportedly setting its sights on Wolves winger Daniel Podence, a player who could potentially fill the void left by Jota’s £25 million move to Saudi Arabia earlier this window.

The ever-reliable Stephen McGowan, one of the most trusted sources when it comes to Celtic news and rumours, has backed up the speculation surrounding Podence’s potential move to Parkhead.
According to McGowan in MailPlus, Wolves have set a £12 million price tag on the 27-year-old Portuguese wide man, who is heading into the last 12 months of his contract at Molineux. Podence has found himself out of favour at Wolves, as evidenced by his omission from Gary O’Neil’s first squad for the 1-0 English Premier League defeat to Manchester United on Monday night. He also failed to feature during Wolves’ pre-season.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is no stranger to Podence, having been linked with the winger during his time in charge of Leicester City.
Wolves, however, are reportedly reluctant to consider a loan move for Podence and would prefer an outright sale.
This stance aligns with Celtic’s potential interest, as Rodgers is keen to secure a long-term solution for the left-sided attacker role in his squad.
As the transfer window continues, it remains to be seen whether Celtic will meet Wolves’ £12 million valuation for Podence, but the winger’s potential arrival at Parkhead could mark a significant coup for Rodgers and his team as they look to strengthen their squad for the challenges ahead.
