Reputable Scottish football journalist Stephen McGowan has clarified Kieran Tierney’s Arsenal wage ahead of a potential return to Celtic.
It was reported last night that the left-back could make a sensational homecoming, with him due to become a free agent next summer after Arsenal chose not to exercise their one-year extension option in his contract.

Parkhead boss Brendan Rodgers worked with Tierney during his initial spell in Glasgow’s east end, developing him into an elite player who was sold for a then club record £25m.
Tierney now looks to have run his course down south, and a move back up the road seems like his preferred option.
According to McGowan, who is well connected at Celtic, the 27-year-old earns £120,000 a week at Arsenal. He is reportedly ‘open to the idea’ of taking a significant wage cut to facilitate a return to Celtic.
News of this sensational transfer comes after Tierney made his first Arsenal start in over 19 months against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup last night.
The Gunners won 3-2 to progress to the semis, with Tierney coming off on 69 minutes due to what looked to be a knock to his leg.
Injury has plagued the defender throughout his career, and although that will be a major concern from fans regarding a Celtic return, if his fitness can be adeptly managed, the Hoops will have an elite player on their hands.
