After everything looked in place for an Eddie Howe takeover, the deal has sensationally collapsed due to his backroom team not being able to be installed with the club.

Stephen McGowan of Mail Sport who once claimed the deal was done is now saying Celtic have already moved on to their next candidate and are now in advanced talks.

This is embarrassing for the club. Sources inside the club and in the Eddie howe camp for weeks have said the deal will be done and it’s come down to the end of May with a ridiculous collapse.

It means whoever comes in now didn’t know they were going to be the next Celtic manager for the last month or two. They are coming in cold with very little time to prepare.
