The starting line-up is out and we can’t say we’re too surprised with the side:
Bain, Elhamed, Jullien, Ajer, Laxalt, Brown, McGregor, Ntcham, Christie, Elyounoussi, Edouard
Frimpong, Bitton, Rogic and Ajeti have all dropped out of the side to make way for Elhamed, Jullien, Ntcham and Edouard. For the most part, it looks like our strongest squad of the players we have available.
One thing that’s a major disappointment is Scott Bain still being in goals. It seemed like the perfect time to reintroduce Vasilis Barkas and give him a real good run of games to see if he’s up to scratch. He’s spent more time with the players, trained with them and should be able to get a better read on them.
Neil has kept the faith in Scott Bain, who hasn’t been too clever in some of the outings he’s had this season. Not helped by the defence of course, but had Barkas put in the displays Bain has had, there would have been an uproar by some supporters who are determined to write off the Greek player.
A win tonight would give us a welcome boost heading into the weekend. Now is the time for Eddy to show what he’s made of and get among the goals.
Let’s hope we’re at it from the off.
