SPFL Side Announces Away Allocation Cut

Hibernian has decided to reduce the number of tickets allocated to visiting supporters at Easter Road.

The move, announced through a statement on Monday evening, follows appeals from Hibs fans and supporter groups who demanded action after offensive chants from Rangers fans during an incident where Martin Boyle was receiving on-field treatment could be heard.

Hibs aren’t perfect in the fan behaviour department, though. During the recent Edinburgh derby, Lawrence Shankland was targeted with missiles from the stands.

The decision to cut away allocations will notably affect how many tickets are available to fans of visiting teams, including Celtic, who have traditionally had a strong traveling support in the capital. In their last visit to Hibs in february, Celtic fans were allocated 3,624 tickets.

They follow a rising trend in Scottish football, with clubs cutting Celtic’s allocation.Over the last few seasons, Celtic fans have sat and watched allocations being cut and cut.
