There will be an SPFL board meeting on Monday it has emerged after UEFA grant leagues with special circumstances the power to call their league as it stands.
With no sign of football being allowed to be played in their country any time soon — UEFA have finally acknowledged some cannot continue for different reasons.
While the reasons are strict — it’s likely the SPFL will fall under that category.
The SPFL will now meet via video conference to discuss their next move after Thursday UEFA meeting.
SunSport claim talk of the league being called as early as next week isn’t being seriously talked about as the board look for ways it could possibly start up.
Celtic’s preference is to finish the eight games they have left. With a thirteen point gap at the top — they were crushing to their ninth consecutive title. If this can’t be done UEFA now seem happy for the SPFL to call the league on sporting merit.
