Sparta Prague Boss Explains ‘Disrespectful’ Celtic Comments

The Sparta Prague boss was with his side training at Celtic Park on Wednesday night before sitting down with the media ahead of their match day three clash with Celtic in the Europa League.

The manager made headlines in Scotland when the group was announced when he earmarked Celtic as the weak link in the group and the best chance to get points.

He tried to explain his comments at Wednesday’s press conference; explaining it wasn’t a slight on Celtic but more of the calibre of Milan and Lille which brought him to that conclusion.

“I have heard no Czech team has ever won at Celtic Park but we want to improve our reputation and be successful.” Vaclav Kotal Told RecordSport.

“I didn’t mean it to disrespect Celtic. When I said they were the ‘most accessible team’ for us I was talking about in terms of the in the group. AC Milan and Lille are leading the Italian and French leagues – two of best leagues in the world.

“I respect the quality of the Scottish league and especially the size of Celtic.”

The bhoys are looking to get their first win of the group stage this evening if they can get get past Prague at Celtic Park.

The bhoys lost at home to Milan on match day one, they need to have more about them from the off tonight if they’re to have a chance.

Neil Lennon is fighting on many fronts this season but a good showing in the Europa league should not suffer considering the size of our squad.
