As Celtic hunt for a replacement for the retiring Joe Hart, it feels as though there is a new goalkeeper linked with a move to the club every other week.
Ugurcan Cakir, Etienne Vaessen, and Viljami Sinisalo are a few names that have been mentioned already as potential options with the latest being Alex McCarthy.
According to the Daily Mail, the 34-year-old is emerging as a summer option for the Hoops with manager Brendan Rodgers having wanted him previously.

Good with the ball at his feet, McCarthy has managed just seven appearances in all competitions for Southampton this season.
With one England cap to his name, he has Premier League experience and is a decent enough ‘keeper but there is a valid argument that Celtic should be setting their sights higher than someone like McCarthy.
His acquisition would likely underwhelm many and particularly given his age, one cannot say that he is a long-term option.
Hart is 37, and midway through next season, McCarthy would turn 35. Goalkeepers do typically play for longer than outfield players, but Celtic should be looking for much more longevity between the sticks.
