Southampton Close In On £15m Deal – Could This Impact Edouard Links?

English Premier League side Southampton are closing in on a £15 million deal for Blackburn Rovers striker Adam Armstrong, despite their recent links to Celtic frontman Odsonne Edouard.

As reported by BBC Sport, the young English striker is booked in to have a medical with the Saints, who are looking to find their replacement for recently departed striker Danny Ings.

Reports also suggested that Frenchman Odsonne Edouard was mentioned as a possible target for Ralph Hassenhutl’s side, but that deal looks less likely with the latest developments.

Of course, Southampton could still return for a second striker option, but you would imagine they would be looking for options in other areas with the money made from Danny Ings move to Aston Villa.

This also means that the 24-year olds future remains unknown, with sides such as Brighton, Crystal Palace and Roma still being mentioned. But those club’s don’t appear to have made their moves.

Edouard has been a revelation in his time at the club and gave fans so many memories to remember him by. However, at this stage, it is probably better for both parties to go separate ways.
