Celtic made full use of the Asian market when Ange Postecoglou was at the club. Despite Brendan Rodgers being at the helm now, players from the Far East are still being brought in.
And Park Ji Sung, formerly of PSV, Manchester United, and QPR, has come out and praised his fellow countrymen who are in Glasgow. He said (Football Scotland): “For example, there are three young South Korean players at Celtic I was really impressed with how they seem to be adapting to life in Europe by learning English diligently.
“They had many of the same issues I had when I first went to Europe to sign for PSV Eindhoven with integrating into a new country and learning the language.”

Yang, Oh, and Kwon will be hugely encouraged by the praise of a man who played for their country 100 times. Ji is regarded as one of the greatest Asian players of all time, and it is refreshing to hear that Celtic’s trio of South Koreans are experiencing the same issues he did when he first moved away from his home country.
So far, Yang nor Kwon have particularly stood out in green and white. Oh has bags of potential and offers a different dynamic for the team in attack, but he remains raw.
There is still a long way to go for these Bhoys, but it will be hoped that the words of approval from someone like Ji can give them a boost.
