Celtic have stepped up their summer recruitment drive by making an OFFICIAL APPROACH for Nordsjaelland’s Benjamin Nygren Celtsarehere understands.
The 23-year-old Swedish playmaker is entering the final six months of his contract in Denmark, and the Parkhead club have moved quickly in an effort to secure his signature.
Talks are now underway between Celtic and Nygren’s representatives, with the Scottish champions hopeful of concluding a deal in the region of just around £2 million.

Despite the short time left on his deal, Nordsjaelland are not believed to be under pressure to sell. The decision is expected to come down to Nygren himself, who is attracting interest from clubs in the German Bundesliga and the Belgian top flight.
Nygren enjoyed a strong season with Nordsjaelland, scoring 16 goals and registering four assists. His form earned him a call-up to the Swedish national team, further boosting his profile ahead of the summer window. Celtic see him as a valuable addition to their attacking options, particularly in the number 10 role where he has been most effective.

He is also capable of playing deeper in midfield as a number eight or out wide, offering Brendan Rodgers tactical flexibility heading into the new campaign. The club are eager to bolster their creative options and see Nygren’s mix of technical ability and goal threat as a strong fit.
Discussions are ongoing, and should all go to plan, Celtic could have their first major signing of the summer secured in the coming weeks.
