A ‘source’ close to David Turnbull last night spoke to Record Sport about the deal to Celtic after Norwich tried their best to sign the player from Motherwell on Thursday.
The news broke after 10pm on Thursday evening that Turnbull had decided against a move to Norwich and his move to Celtic was back on. Since then there has been a scramble for information on what has went on behind the scenes and according to Record Sports ‘source’ – Turnbull has turned down a more lucrative deal at Norwich to sign for Celtic.
The source said: “David was blown away by the people at Norwich, by what they had to offer and by the pathway they have for their young players. They made him feel really welcome.
“And yes, he’d have been making more money in the EPL.
“But right now, at 19, he feels Celtic is the right football move for him – and that’s the most important part of any decision he makes.”
Overnight there has been many tweets deleted on social media and a lot of climb-downs happening as a result of this news. There were many lapping it up that Turnbull wasn’t going to sign for the treble treble winners.
The Celtic deal for Turnbull has looked on twice and off twice, is the third time a charm for the player and Scottish Champions?
