Odsonne Edouard is in the last 18 months of his Celtic deal. To say he’s not been at it this season has been an understatement but not many have.
The once touted £30m striker’s valuations is lowering by the week. Between the pandemic, Eddy’s form and his contract situation, the fee will be diluted when we do get one.
An agent is passing stories on about the Frenchman and a ‘source’ speaking to RecordSport claim West Han are looking to bring in a striker this month. It’s claimed Edouard is high on the list of possibilities for the London club:
You might want to take this one with caution as it has came from an agent.
The agent in question though has been involved in trying to bring numerous targets to West Ham. The player in question is Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard.
The player’s contract is up in the summer of 2022 meaning Celtic may decide to cash in now before even more of his value has been lost.
With the league pretty much over in Scotland with Rangers romping it, there is even less reason to hold on.
There is some credence to saying it would be better to cash in now than wait four or five months until the season is officially over.
There’s no way back for Celtic in the league and they should be planning for next season. What’s abundantly clear is Edouard will not be here next term so what’s the difference of 4 months?
It still looks unlikely, however, Celtic might fell compelled to cash in after seeing Moussa Dembele has only gone for around £34m.
