Sky Sports Man Claims Rangers Record – Quickly Corrects Himself

SKY SPORTS have dropped another clanger when they were interviewing Neil Lennon this morning.

Neil Lennon was asked what his priorities are with regards to trophies with the Sky Sports presenter putting the league title into focus.

“I know your aim is to win the title this season, that would make in nine-in-a-row, which of course matches the record HELD by Rangers,” Said the Sky Sports presenter.

After Neil Lennon commented on how they must proceed the Sky Sports man must have had someone in his ear because he’d quickly go on to correct himself.

“I do know though, I should just point out Celtic have done nine-in-a-row before that”

Celtic indeed hold the record, and Rangers matched it in the 90s. Something that seems to go unwritten a lot of the time as Celtic approach this ten in a row charge.

The emphasis is getting to that magical ten number to BEAT the 90s Rangers record but in reality, the bhoys are chasing something a very special Celtic team managed long before David Murray walked in with his tainted tenners. That’s why it meant so much to Celtic fans that the club stopped ten in a row back in 1998 – that Rangers team would have surpassed the great Celtic team of the 60s and 70s.

That should not be forgotten in all of this. If Celtic do make it to ten in a row, yes they surpass the Gers team of the 90s, BUT they also exceed the record set by Jock Stein and his band of Celtic heroes. An achievement to savour if we manage to do it!
