Sky Sports’ Jota Injury Update after Injury Blow

Celtic were handed a worrying injury setback during their clash with Dundee United after Jota was forced off with a knee problem midway through the first half.

The Portuguese winger signalled immediately for medical assistance after going down clutching his right knee just after the half-hour mark.

Jota was clearly in discomfort but was able to walk off the pitch, though he showed visible signs of distress as he made way for Adam Idah.

Providing an update at the start of the second half, Sky Sports commentator Ian Crocker confirmed that the early indication was a “twisted knee,” with the Celtic medical team assessing the extent of the damage.

It’s an untimely blow for Brendan Rodgers as Celtic close in on another league title, and with a trip to Ibrox to face Rangers looming next weekend, concerns will mount over whether Jota will be fit to play a part in the derby.

The 26-year-old had recently returned to the club after an 18-month spell away and has been working his way back into form. His injury now casts a shadow over what could be a crucial period as Celtic look to wrap up the Premiership and push for a domestic treble.
