It’s Friday night under the lights at Celtic Park as the holders begin their defence of the Premier Sports Cup.
The Round of 16 throws up a familiar foe in Falkirk, with memories still fresh from last season’s 5–2 quarter-final win. Kick-off is set for 7:45 pm, live on Premier Sports 1, with international replays available via Celtic TV.
Brendan Rodgers has a strong pool to pick from, mixing experience with fresh faces. Fans are buzzing to see how he blends defensive steel, midfield craft, and attacking flair for this one.
New arrival Jahmai Simpson-Pusey is still waiting for his first competitive minutes since joining on loan from Manchester City, but his pedigree is clear.

Auston Trusty’s aggression and versatility make him a constant option, while Hayato Inamura has already shown composure on the ball in his early outings. Anthony Ralston remains the dependable squad man every manager values. Between the sticks, Viljami Sinisalo is ready if called upon.
Luke McCowan’s energy and eye for goal give Celtic a box-to-box presence, and Marco Tilio offers pace and trickery if selected. Shin Yamada’s lightning speed and direct play have drawn comparisons to Daizen Maeda, a real potential wildcard.
Up top, Callum Osmand is still finding his feet after arriving in the summer, while Johnny Kenny returns from a prolific loan spell and a fresh long-term deal. Both bring a hunger that fits perfectly in a cup tie.
Rodgers has plenty of decisions to make before naming his side, and competition for places is fierce. Whoever gets the nod, the aim is simple, keep the defence of the trophy on track in front of a packed Paradise.
