Shocking – The Image Which Sums Up SPFL Officials Disregard for Celtic

A lot has been made of the complete ineptitude of our officials when it comes to ‘protecting’ Celtic players, or simply put when it comes to applying the rules.

The image below is something which epitomises the current scene in Scottish football and how Celtic players have been on the rough end of dangerous challenges and decisions which could have had a significant bearing on the game.

The image shows Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard being treated for an injury after the player was fouled in the box and took a sore one, no yellow card, no penalty. The guy lying across from Edouard is Ryan Christie who also was fouled in the box two seconds before Edouard was ‘challenged’, again nothing given.

It’s quite perplexing.

Tom Boyd called for something to be done to stop this sort of thing happening and going unpunished. The former Celtic captain believes foreign refs should come in and officiate SPFL matches as the current crop aren’t up to the task.

Edouard had to go off in a stretcher after being fouled and is now a major doubt for some of Celtic’s most important games of the season.

No penalty though, meanwhile at Ibrox…
