Leicester loanee Darnel Johnson has endeared himself to some of the most deranged fans in the Hibs support by posting an image of himself just about to make a horror challenge od Celtic’s Emilio Izaguirre.

The loan defender made his debut for Hibs and should have been sent packing for his shocking tackle on the Celtic left back towards the end of the game. The player went in studs showing putting his full weight on Izzy’s ankle. There was an audible gasp when the tackle happened, and the Celtic star was in severe pain.

The tackle was so bad it ended Izzy’s night prematurely with the player being stretchered off. However, Darnel thought it was appropriate to post the image on his Instagram page, much to the delight of some Hibs fans.

This player posted it late on Wednesday night after the game. We hope he at least checked on the Celtic defender before going ahead and posting this.

On another day, a similar challenge would have broken someone’s ankle.
