Seven Players Look Set to Miss Glasgow Derby

CELTIC will go into the Glasgow Derby potentially missing seven players who all could stake their claim for a place in the starting XI.

Four call-offs SO FAR with Covid related issues on international duty and three doubts due to injury and lacking match fitness.

Without having the players back to view them at Lennoxtown and international games still to be played between now and Saturday — it’s a precarious position.

Here is Celtic’s current injury status for the game.

100% Out

  • Forrest
  • Bitton
  • Christie
  • Elhamed

Doubts

  • Edouard
  • Ajeti
  • Johnston

Ajeti hasn’t been seen since the Hibs game and while Neil Lennon hopes the striker is fit, he’s missed over two weeks of football.

Edouard is the same now and has been confined to isolating back in France. Mikey is a long term injured player but is in the final stages of his injury.

Forrest looks out until late November and the rest either have COVID-19 or have to isolate because they’ve been around someone with the virus.

It’s not ideal but Celtic still have a deep squad. We can’t afford many more injuries or call offs.
