SCOTT BROWN laughed off suggestions Celtic wouldn’t be worthy winners if the SPFL had to call the league in the near future.
Speaking to PLZ Soccer on Friday afternoon, the Celtic captain was clear Celtic had done what they needed to do in the second half of the season – creating a 13 point gap.
There has been much debate abut null and void but that’s all it has ever been. It was never a serious suggestion and looked upon by many as the last stop by many Ibrox pundits and fans to stop Celtic winning the league.
Brown was open and honest and spoke about Gerrard admitting defeat earlier this season.
“I think their manager and everyone understood that they were never going to catch us.” Brown told PLZ Soccer.
“They said it in the press themselves – the only chance they had to win was the Scottish Cup so they pretty much admitted defeat already.
“For us it was all about going to Dubai and understanding that we lost that game to Rangers at the end of December but we had to make sure we put things right and we managed to do that.”
Broony felt the pain of the home defeat to the Ibrox club earlier this season but the bhoys bounced back in the most emphatic of fashion.
Nobody can deny this title to Celtic, unless they have a vested interest in the bhoys not landing nine-in-a-row.
