Former Celtic captain Scott Brown has given his thoughts on the current state of affairs regarding incomings at the club. So far in January, things have been relatively quiet but Brown believes additions to the squad will be made.
In a press conference organised by the Scottish Cup earlier in the week, Brown outlined the positions in which he thinks Celtic will sign players: “I’m sure they’ll look at another striker”, he said (Sky Sports). “They always want to try and make sure there’s competition high up the park and maybe (they’ll sign) another winger as well.”

Already, it seems as though one of Brown’s predictions has come to fruition because a move to Glasgow for Rapid Vienna wide-man Nicolas Kuhn seems close.
Whether another striker will be signed, however, remains to be seen. Kyogo is still available despite the Asian Cup taking place and Oh will be back from said tournament by mid-February at the latest.
Given these two options up top and the fact the likes of Maeda can play through the middle, it is questionable if The Bhoys need another centre-forward in the door.
One position that needs to be strengthened according to fans, though, is left-back. Links to Tiago Araujo have recently died down but that does in no way lessen the need for said area to be looked at.
Alexandro Bernabei is not providing sufficient competition to Greg Taylor who many supporters believe could be upgraded on.
There is still vast time before the window shuts, meaning numerous reports, rumours, and the like will surface over potential incomings and outgoings so one cannot come to any thorough conclusions as of yet about where will and where won’t be strengthened in the squad.
