He was asked if he would one day return to Parkhead to take a seat in the dugout despite just becoming a manager in the summer.
He’s done well with Fleetwood so far, guiding the club to a good run in the FA Cup, which is still ongoing, and keeping his side out of the relegation zone with the seaside club extending the gap between the drop and themselves with a few decent results.
When asked if he had ambitions to return to Celtic Park to take the hot seat, he admitted he hadn’t thought ahead, focussing on the task at hand with Fleetwood, otherwise he wouldn’t be able to make a progression. [Off The Record]
“[I’ve got] loads of ambitions, loads of ambitions. But I need to do a good job here before I do anything else.
“I’m still a young manager, I need to make sure that I win some games here or I won’t be managing anyone.”
He’s started out of the spotlight with a challenge on his hands and is still learning on the job. He’s not been afraid to reach out for help when he’s needed it, but he seems to be getting on quite well.
It is a bit early to think of a return to Celtic, though.
