Ryan Christie’s Name Touted for Celtic Return

RYAN Christie’s contract with Bournemouth is set to expire in the summer, leaving the midfielder free to talk to other clubs in January and potentially sign a pre-contract agreement.

A report from TEAMTalk states that Brendan Rodgers is a big fan of the Scotland International, having had a great relationship with him previously when he burst onto the scene at Celtic.

However, the report states that a return to Celtic is unlikely at this moment, with the midfielder also in talks to extend his contract at the Cherries.

It’s worth noting that he does only earn £22,000 a week, a wage Celtic would be able to better if Brendan Rodgers was keen to facilitate a return of the midfielder.

The COVID season saw fans turn on Christie, rightly or wrongly, but he was a great player over his few years with the club. Bringing him back would be some great business, but with Matt O’Riley flying and Reo Hatate getting back to his best, would Ryan Christie dramatically improve the squad?
