Reports in France claim Monaco are interested in signing Ryan Christie.

In what would be one of the more bizarre moves of the transfer window, Glasgow Live are reporting part of the French media say Monaco have gone so far as to make a bid for the midfielder.

Ryan is in the final six months of his Celtic contract because someone in their infinite wisdom allowed the Scottish international to sign a deal that would end half way through a league campaign.

Monaco interested in Christie would be a stretch. There have been rumours of many clubs interested but we’ve heard nothing to this point.

We’d also question why any club would open the bidding at £5m for a player who is free in January.

It seems like the transfer rumour mill is starting to get a bit silly. However, if there’s something in it, we’ll know soon enough.
