ROY KEANE assessed Shane Duffy’s part in conceding the first goal to England on Thursday night and believes he lost out because Harry Maguire wanted it more.
The former Ireland assistant manager acknowledged Shane is going through a difficult time at Celtic but believes Shane could have done better against the England defender.

“Duffy is having a difficult spell club-wise and Harry Maguire looked like he wanted it a little bit more (for the first goal). When the ball comes into the box you ask, who wants it more?” Keane claimed as cited by HITC.
Duffy has come out since and revealed he knows he’s going through a bad patch but has the mental strength to overcome his current situation.
After making some high profile mistakes, the Irishman found himself on the bench for Celtic’s last game against Motherwell.
The Scottish Champions look like they will have Christopher Jullien back after the international breaks which might mean more time for Shane in the coming weeks.
His confidence will be low, it’s up to him to get his head in the game and prove he was a worthwhile summer investment.
