The Norwegian coach, who made a name for himself in Scotland, was enthralled by the noise the supporters made and even admitted to having goosebumps during the match.
He praised the atmosphere at Standard Liege match, lauding it as being on another level than what could be found at Celtic Park.
“What an atmosphere that was. I was at Celtic…well this is better,” Deila claimed.
“It’s great to be a part of this. I had goosebumps during the match. The supporters pushed us tonight and that’s why we won the game. The noise generated at home games this season has been incredible.”

Deila didn’t get to manage many ‘big nights’ at Celtic Park, not hosting a Glasgow Derby, because The Rangers were in the lower divisions, and he failed to deliver Champions League football.
During his time at Celtic, part of the stadium lay empty, with there no demand for season tickets. Admittedly, that atmosphere was quite flat for most matches, but the manager has to take part of the blame for that.
