Rodrigo Riquelme has been sporadically linked with Celtic over the past 12 months with nothing ever really coming of it.

The Atletico Madrid winger has already made his first team debut but is on the periphery of the Spanish side’s squad. The 20-year-old is highly rated but there’s a question mark if he can get into the Atletico team at the moment.

A loan deal to send the winger out to get some much needed first team football could be the key and according to Mundodeportivo, Celtic have asked the question.

The Right-wing is an area of the field which Celtic could stand to have more options. James Forrest has the run of that side and Ryan Christie gets played out of position when James doesn’t start.

Getting in a young winger who has a point to prove could prove useful. Celtic also have young Karamoko Dembele but what we’ve seen from the first three games of the season, Neil Lennon is in no hurry to rush the player into first team football.
