Brendan Rodgers says Celtic will continue to push for attacking reinforcements in the final weeks of the transfer window after securing strength at the back.

Rodgers praised his side’s defensive organisation in a match where Celtic controlled possession but struggled to find a second goal to kill the game.
Rodgers pointed to Liam Scales’ strong performance at left-back after Kieran Tierney was withdrawn, with Auston Trusty coming off the bench to bolster the back line.
The reshuffle was a reminder of the depth now available in defence, even with Alistair Johnston only recently returning from injury.
He said: (RecordSport), “It’s just about improving. There’s areas that we want to improve in the forward line. That’s something that we hope we can do over these remaining weeks.
“We knew that Kieran (Tierney) and maybe even Ali (Johnston) because he’s only back for a few weeks, we knew Kieran was going to have to come out at some point.
“So, Auston on the bench, move Scalesy to left- back. I thought he was fantastic in the game. He was dominant and won headers against two big strikers.”
Rodgers made it clear he wants more attacking options in before the transfer window shuts. The defence looks solid and flexible, but the next step is to add players who can give Celtic more bite up front.
Simpson-Pusey’s arrival will add even more depth at the back, but the big question now is whether Celtic can bring in the forwards Rodgers is after in the coming weeks.

The 1-0 win over St Mirren on the opening day of the season brought a clean sheet and three points, but it also showed the need for more sharpness in attack.
If those new signings arrive, Celtic will head into the autumn with the mix of defensive strength and attacking threat Rodgers says is needed for a strong campaign.
