Brendan Rodgers has addressed the bizarre mix-up involving Kyogo Furuhashi and Atlanta United earlier this week.

The MLS mistakenly published an article announcing the Japanese striker’s transfer to the American side, sparking a flurry of speculation.
Speaking ahead of Celtic’s trip to Ross County, Rodgers made it clear that Kyogo remains firmly part of his plans, at least for this weekend.
When asked about the situation, Rodgers said: [Celtic TV]
“I can guarantee you that he’ll be on the coach and travelling to Ross County, he’s certainly not in the MLS!
“In this period of time, there’s always speculation around players, especially talented players, so I’m sure that will continue to be the case over the coming weeks.”
While Rodgers was quick to laugh off the confusion caused by the MLS blunder, his comments left the door slightly ajar regarding potential future moves.
With Kyogo being a key player for Celtic, interest from other clubs isn’t surprising.
Rodgers stopped short of dismissing that there was any substance in the rumours. Atlanta are still said to be eying a £9.5 million move for the player, but have not made an official move as of yet.
Celtic may want to wait until they’ve faced Young Boys and Aston Villa before allowing the striker to leave, but they must have a replacement lined up.
Atlanta doesn’t have until the end of January to sign Kyogo, with the MLS transfer window not shutting until Tuesday, April 23. Losing Kyogo after the January window in Scotland shuts would be a sister for Celtic if they don’t have someone in the door.
