Rodgers to Scout Celtic Summer Transfer Target

CELTIC FANS will have their first chance to see Steven Caulker play tomorrow night when Dundee come to town.

The Englishman could have been a Celtic player last summer when Brendan Rodgers invited the player to come to Lennoxtown and sign a short-term deal.

At the time Steven wasn’t in the right place mentally to move away from his support system in England. Since then he got an opportunity come up north and sign for Dundee – getting back playing football again.

The deal seemed strange at the time, however, Brendan Rodgers would have encouraged the player to come try his luck in the SPFL and probably for selfish reasons.

Brendan speaks very highly of Steven and to have him play in the SPFL the Irishman can follow his progress very closely.

The Englishman signed an 18-month deal with Dundee so it’s entirely possible that Brendan Rodgers could make a move for the defender once he has found his form again.

He has the chance to impress Rodgers tomorrow night by helping to stop Celtic from taking three points off Dundee in what will be the defender’s biggest challenge since getting back on the field.

A win against Dundee will put Celtic back to 9 points clear in the league.
