Celtic’s transfer window has been unusually quiet this summer, with Brendan Rodgers keen to assess the players already in the building before tapping into the market.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has already brought in young talents Odin Thiago Holm and Marco Tilio, and he assures fans that more are on the way, with Korean duo Kwon and Yang to be announced shortly.
However, he also emphasises that the club is still in the planning phase for the next stage of recruitment.
Celtic arrived in Japan to ramp up their pre-season training with matches against Yokohama F Marinos and Gamba Osaka. Rodgers explained his approach to the current transfer window, stating, “It was only fair to assess the squad first.”
“Coming in there were already positions I felt we could improve on. But we’re in a period of assessment right now. What we have done is try to plan for the future with some of the signings that have come in,” Rodgers added in the Daily Record.
The Celtic manager is clearly focusing on the long-term, bringing in players who can contribute now but will also provide significant value in the future. He believes it’s too late to plan when the future arrives, hence the proactive approach.
Rodgers also praised the behind-the-scenes planning process led by Chief Executive Michael Nicholson and Head of Recruitment Mark Lawwell. He said, “There’s a really good process in place and the club is in a really good place.”
