Rodgers Reacts to Kyogo Ending Goal Drought

In Celtic’s 2-0 win over Livingston, striker Kyogo Furuhashi ended a notable goal drought, scoring for the first time since November 12th against Aberdeen.

This goal, breaking a seven-game dry spell, was a significant moment for both the player and the team.

You could see his confidence was not at the normal level, and he wasn’t tucking away goals like he usually would. Hopefully, the goal will boost his confidence and see him back on the goal sheet regularly.

Manager Brendan Rodgers commented on Kyogo’s performance and overall contribution to the team, saying he is just three goals short of where he was last year. Something that if you paid attention to social media criticism would be hard to believe.

As quoted by the Daily Record, “I think he is only three short of where he was last season. But strikers want to score goals. It was an important team goal but nice for him to get a goal.”

The striker was visibly delighted with his goal, and you could see what it meant to him as he celebrated in front of the fans.

Hopefully he can do the same next week!
