Despite Celtic’s 0-0 draw against Dundee United this afternoon, Brendan Rodgers took the opportunity to offer context to the result, reflecting on the team’s progress four months into the season.
After a superb start to the season, the result against Dundee United was a surprise to a lot of people.
However, Rodgers was quick to defend his team from criticism.
He said: (BBC Sport), “We are greedy to win every game but nine points clear, with a trophy in the cabinet, and doing well in the Champions League, it’s been a good period for us.”

Rodgers is absolutely spot on. Any Celtic supporter would have taken your hand off if you had offered them to be in the position the Hoops are in at this stage of the season.
People often have the tendency to focus on the negatives, like draws and defeats.
However, taking every game that Celtic have played into consideration so far this season, it has been a sensational four months, with many more highs than lows.
The Irishman is flying back at Celtic. One year ago, there were doubts from some regarding his return to the club.
However, he is now thriving back at the club he supported as a boy, and the players are enjoying his management style.
With so much criticism for the majority of last season, he has bounced back spectacularly, and with the real possibility of another treble and reaching the Champions League playoffs, it very well could be one of the best seasons in Celtic’s illustrious history as a football team.
