BRENDAN RODGERS shrugged off suggestions today that his Captain was overly aggressive and that opposing players need more protection from him.
The comments came from Hearts Boss Craig Levein after Rodgers’ side comprehensively beat his side on Tuesday night.
Speaking about the game and aftermath, Rodgers spoke of humility and how Hearts inability to show any after their win against Celtic came back to bite them.
“If it’s any consolation towards Hearts, this was my 101st game as Celtic manager and probably the easiest game I had to give the players any motivation for.
“Why? Because in the aftermath of the last game, there were one or two comments which came out that was pretty clear on questioning our desire to win the game.
“Going into this game, the motivation was pretty simple.
“Hearts were very good in the last game when they won, and we give credit to them, we showed humility afterwards.
“The game the other night it was clear we were the dominant team, not just Scott Brown but the team as a whole.”
