Brendan Rodgers praised his Celtic players’ mentality despite the tough playing conditions against Ross County in Dingwall during a cold January afternoon.
Celtic ran out winners in the end, with three goals from the 81st minute onwards.
The poor quality of the pitch, due to snow, meant that County were able to make the most of home comforts for much of the game.
However, the Hoops’ winning mentality edged Celtic to victory in the final stages, with Rodgers highlighting how impressed he was with the character they showed to emerge 4-1 victors.
He said (Sky Sports): “We should’ve been more goals in front at half-time but scored a very, very good goal.
“Obviously, we got pegged back; the goal came from us giving away a throw-in a few minutes earlier. So then we had to find that resilience, and in games like today, you’ve got to find a way to win.
“Really, really cold day, very bobbly, very bumpy pitch, and the players showed a fantastic mentality and were really good winners in the end.”

The pitch clearly did Celtic no favours today, with such cold conditions.
Supporters themselves deserve immense credit for travelling to the game, and so do the Celtic players for stepping up in the final stages when it mattered most.
For Celtic, the result was the most important thing this afternoon.
However, the mentality to take a game hanging in the balance in the 81st minute to a comfortable 4-1 win shows just how much they thrive in pressure moments.
